That idea was presented to the Knights of
Columbus (Council #12480) for funding and the start-up man power.
After approval by the Council officers, the idea was presented
the Ladies Auxiliary of Council #12480 for additional assistance
and finally to Msgr. Leon Duesman for permission to use the parish
facilities. Even though the funding & initial man power was
provided by the Knights, the event was for the entire parish community
and it was hoped that parishioners would participate in its planning
and assist in its execution.
In February 2005, a non-profit organization called "MCN
- Frisco, Inc." was formed to handle the logistics
of hosting the event.
Paperwork has been submitted with the IRS to officially receive
our 501 (c) 3 - tax exempt, non-profit status.
However, forming this new entity did not change several basic
facts:
Monte Carlo Night is for the benefit of the "entire"
Parish and those Frisco organizations using our facilities.
- It requires participation of "all"
Parish organizations in order to succeed.
- To achieve our main objectives of FUN &
FELLOWSHIP, we "need lots" of volunteers / assistance.
- The event is open to anyone who wishes
to attend.
